Vintage Honey Co LTD Riviera Special Fuzz Guitar Pedal

Greetings to all you fans of weird 60’s Japanese effects pedals. I just demoed a Honey Co Riviera Special Fuzz pedal that came into our store recently. This is the first one I have ever seen in person. I don’t know what sound the engineers in Japan were going for… or whether they succeeded or not… but this is the most evil, twisted fuzz pedal I’ve ever experienced. This thing is so bad, it’s like a horrific childhood experience so traumatic that your mind unconsciously blocks it out! Add to the sick fuzz a very subtle envelope filter and you have the “special” effect. I think “special” is an apt description. This pedal is disturbing enough for guitar – I can only imagine what it do to a keyboard sound!

When it first came in to the store, it was totally DOA. We sent it out to our pedal expert in Nashville and he replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors (which had all failed). He left the original tone circuitry intact so essentially you have a brand new 1960’s pedal that should last another fifty years. This pedal is in good condition cosmetically but is missing the battery door. A perfect holiday season gift for your hipster doofus who has everything – I’ll bet they don’t have one of these!
