No matter what your skill level, Av can get you going in the right direction. He takes students from beginning to advanced and plays all styles of music. Glen Gross – Trumpet & Jazz Improvisation

Trumpeter Glen Gross has been playing jazz for the last 30 years in Albuquerque, Monterey, Los Angeles, and Tucson. In 2012, Glen spent six weeks teaching trumpet in Haiti at three different music camps, and played principal trumpet in Orchestre Philharmonic de Sainte Trinte in Cange, Haiti. Glen is a frequent soloist at various Tucson jazz venues, including the Old Pueblo Grille, La Encantada Shopping Center, Café Passé, and the Oro Valley Jazz Festival. He has played both lead and solo trumpet with Desert Swing, the Memories band, and Big Band Sounds. Glen has also appeared at the Sydney Conservatory with the University of Arizona Trumpet Ensemble under the direction of Ed Reid and Jeff Haskell, and has toured China with the University of Arizona Studio Jazz Band. He has appeared as a jazz soloist with the Arizona Symphony. Glen’s experience includes playing trumpet on a cruise ship and working as a racetrack bugler for Santa Fe Racing, Inc. and the New Mexico State Fair. He has performed with Bo Diddley, John Handy, and Bobby Shew. Glen loves to teach trumpet students at all levels, and all styles. Glen also teaches jazz improvisation and jazz theory to students of all instruments.

Richard Sullivan – Flute & Saxophone (for all ages & levels)

Regionals preparation, jazz improvisation, sight reading, recitals

Many of Richard’s students have successfully participated in various performances events including All State regional etudes, competitions, chair placement auditions, recitals, concert band, marching band and jazz band. His comprehensive teaching method trains the student in reading music, precise fingering technique, and playing with expression and beautiful tone. One of his goals is to help my students, whether as a soloist or as a member of the school band, to excel and advance rapidly and to experience their fullest potential as a musician.

Saxophonist and flutist Richard Sullivan has performed internationally with artists of renown in the U.S. and Brazil. Currently, Richard can be heard performing with the Rafael Moreno Latin Jazz Quintet.
